Alternative construction methods are winning new business by offering faster and less costly ways to rebuild

In the midst of an ongoing housing crisis, more attention is focusing on modular construction for its efficiencies in labor, time and costs. Those efficiencies stem from the modular construction process, but can be exponentially improved with simple design.

Across the country, the essential workforce is being pushed out of affordable housing options. To work in a community, essential workers frequently have to purchase housing so far out that it takes hours to commute back and forth every day.

Assembly Bill 557 (AB 557), sponsored by Model/Z and SoLa Impact, has unanimously passed the California Assembly's Housing and Community Development Committee with an 8-0 vote. This legislation is designed to significantly expedite, simplify, and streamline the production and permitting processes for modular housing, including Model/Z modular units.

A newly formed partnership between LOGOS Faith Development, Model/Z, and SoLa Impact will bring new affordable housing to denominations and churches directly impacted by the recent fires.
