HUD Sec, Scott Turner Visits SoLa Model/Z

We were honored to welcome Scott Turner, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to our Model/Z modular factory in Watts, CA.

We're grateful to have been joined by key leaders including LA Mayor Karen Bass, LA City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, HACLA CEO Lourdes Castro Ramirez, LACDA Executive Director Emilio Salas, LAHD General Manager Tiena Johnson Hall, SDS Capital Group CEO Deborah La Franchi, and Logos Development CEO Pastor Martin Porter.

Model/Z has scaled to produce 2.5 units per day in under nine months, with the potential to deliver over 5,000 units of affordable housing per year at full capacity. By leveraging modular construction, we aim to accelerate the development of high-quality, cost-effective housing to address LA’s urgent housing and homelessness crisis.

We look forward to working with HUD to expand these scalable solutions – starting in Los Angeles and across the nation.
