What We Built in 2025

2025 was the year we stopped talking about what modular housing could do and started proving what it does. We delivered 500 units in 18 months, set a five-story building in 10 days, and showed developers what's possible when you combine manufacturing innovation with AI-enabled planning. Here’s a look at what we built in 2025.

We delivered 500 units in 18 months and created hundreds of jobs

Since we started operations, we've manufactured and delivered over 500 modular units, scaling to a rate of two homes built per day. Our Watts factory runs with the precision you'd expect from a team with SpaceX and automotive manufacturing backgrounds, and it's creating hundreds of local, living-wage jobs in the process.

The team running our manufacturing lines? Over 75% of our assembly line team are residents from surrounding South LA neighborhoods and nearly 20% are women.

We compressed 8-10 months of build time into two weeks

In October, we set a five-story, 66-unit building in South LA. What normally takes 8-10 months for structural framing was finished in just 10 days.

Seventy modules went up in 10 days. Each one arrived from the factory with everything installed including flooring, windows, appliances, plumbing, and electrical. Along the way, we cut our set time nearly in half, from 42 minutes down to just 22 per module.

We cut soft costs before developers even break ground

We created Z/Suite, a proprietary AI-powered software that handles planning, design coordination, and site readiness. It solves permitting delays, design revisions, coordination failures—all the bureaucratic friction that can extend timelines.

It launches officially in 2026. For developers with projects in the pipeline, it's the difference between starting construction next quarter versus next year.

We reduced material waste by 81%

We designed a system where sustainability, speed, and affordability reinforce each other instead of competing. Compared to traditional construction, our approach reduces material waste by 81% and embodied carbon by 47%.

At scale, our system avoids 6,395 metric tons of material waste and 16,800 metric tons of GHG emissions annually. That impact is why Model/Z was recognized as LABJ’s 2025 Sustainability Disruptor

We delivered when disaster struck

Through SoLa's Rebuild & Restore Fund, we donated modular ADUs to families displaced by the Altadena wildfires, delivering housing faster when it was needed most.

People started paying attention to modular

We formed a new partnership with Logos Faith Development for building affordable housing projects on underutilized church-land. Forbes and the Wall Street Journal both wrote about what we're building, and in December, we won the LA Business Journal's 2025 Sustainability Disruptor Award.

What’s next in 2026

We're scaling production. Z/Suite launches. And we're delivering more housing faster for developers who need predictable timelines and controlled costs.

Our factory is planning capacity for 2026 delivery schedules. We currently have room to onboard 2–3 additional developer partners next year. If you’re planning a project in 2026 and want to lock in capacity early, now is the time to start the conversation.
