About the project: Carolyn Smith was the recipient of the first ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) in Altadena through a grant program. She has lived in Altadena for over three decades, and her home was destroyed by fire. The Model/Z team described her as determined to rebuild and as someone who embodies a strong sense of community. Carolyn was one of five recipients selected to receive an ADU through a foundation partnership (specifically, a grant from SoLa and other foundations).
